This will be my fourth year as a make-up model for JLS. I have been consistently impressed with the work of Julie Schiffer as a make-up artist, teacher and photographer. She has both solid experience and excellent instincts as to whether something is going to work or not. If something is not looking right to her, she makes necessary adjustments quickly and efficiently. Ever since 2008 I have also wanted to participate as a student, and look forward to a time when my schedule will allow for this. The JLS course provides a good foundation of skills in only one week. Beginners and more advanced make-up artists seem to be learning a lot. Every actor and model would be fortunate to have the skills taught during the JLS course when going on castings and working. I have always received my photos from Julie within approximately one week of the shoot dates, and have no doubt these photos have led to my booking a number of jobs.

Hi Julie thanx ! I got the gun for the airbrush.I have been practicing I love it the makeup is great it looks flawless.Let me know if you are going to be doing another class in NY.I would like to maybe come back for the photo shoot.

" The Best School" I attended JLS Makeup School in October. 2010 and graduated with the confidence and training I need to work as a freelance makeup artist.

My teacher, Julie, was an industry professional and is great teacher who has done makeup on Hollywood celebrities and models from the pages of Vogue magazine. She can make anyone look gorgeous with cutting edge beauty looks.Julie is down to earth and never puts a student down. She helps us to learn and refine techniques with encouragement and helps each student individually.
The course was worth every penny I spent. In addition to learning how to be a good makeup artist  I received a large makeup kit stocked with everything I need to work in the Industry.

Julie is a charming lovely person who can really teach her craft. I learned so much in the weeks course and had so much fun doing it. I made lifetime friends as well in the class.

I will always remember it as one of the best things I ever did. I have a great portfolio that I developed in the class and Julie lets us come in to another class if we want to do more photos.

I am well on my way.

JLS is has a great program if you want to become a makeup artist.  It's quick, fun, very informative, and Julie is easy to learn from.  The last couple days are dedicated to photo shoots, so you walk away with several pictures of your work.  The course also includes a makeup kit which is filled with everything you need to work the very next day.  I was hired by NARS, which is a great company.  Thanks Julie!

JLS was literally the best time I've ever had in my life, people say how a person can learn everything about makeup in just one week; but people would be amazed on how much a person can learn when they have such a great teacher.  The environment of the class was amazing, I felt comfortable, which in fact made the learning process easier.  The makeup kit was amazing! Everything a makeup artist needs was in the kit, loved it!  JLS will forever be tattooed across my heart, and I know that I will go far with everything I have learned, MUAH JLS.

I had a great time in my classes on JLS Makeup School. In just a few days, I learned lot of things, tricks and tips. Julie, the MUA and teacher, is nice and the makeup kit is cool! I recommend it. :)

Initially i was excited about attending makeup school...but attending JLS augmented my excitement. My teacher,(Julie S.), was amazing and actually knew what she was doing which was refreshing. From learning the basics to putting previous lessons into action my excitement to go to class never diminished.(plus at the end of the course you do a photo shoot that helps jump start your portfolio)...Basically, my overall experience was great, and i highly recommend JLS for all you future artist.

I graduated from jls in february and i got a gig right away as a make up artist for a film. my teacher was fantastic! i love her! the environment was very relaxed and i didnt feel lost or intimidated. i learned everything i needed to know to be a good make up artist and i would reccomend this institution to any aspiring make up artist. keep up the great work jls!

I went to JLS Makeup School in Los Angeles. After graduation JLS got me a Film to do which was a lot of fun. I got a job with Mac and I love working there. I recommend JLS Makeup School to all who want to become makeup artists

I just recently graduated from this school and it was just an amazing experience. i have nothing but good things to say. for starters the atmosphere is friendly and fun. my instructor was very nice, knowledgable, patient, experienced. i got the most amazing make up kit. im confident in my work. the photoshoot was intense and fun. the training was hands on and very much concentrated on the student and their ability to grasp the concept and then apply the technique correctly. 4 days after i recieved my certificate i was called for another photoshoot. way to go jls! you guys are awesome. i would definitely reccomend this school to any aspiring artist.

I've been to several professional makeup schools and JLS is by far the best. The class was small and the teacher was terrific. She taught me all the tricks of the trade. They also gave me a complete makeup kit. I got a job as soon as I finished JLS. I would recommend it to anyone.

  JLS Professional Make-up Artist Courses taught me everything I needed to know to work in the industry. I love how after only a one week course I received a professional portfolio and was able to use that portfilio to get work immediately.
